Hello Sisters,
Our next big quarterly activity is coming up soon on Friday, October 15th in the evening--Fab Friday. We have some cute crafts and fabulous classes that will be available. Sign-ups start next Sunday--please be on the lookout for the project/sign-up table just outside of the Relief Society Room!!!!
Please make note of the many (phew!) upcoming and ongoing activities, and please come to whatever interests you. Everyone is welcome to come to all activities! (including your friends who are not of our faith--please make sure to invite them--this is a great [and relatively easy and non-threatening] way to do missionary work):
Please mark your calendars:
Tuesday, September 21st at 7pm at the church: Crocheting 101 with Cynthia Perez and Amanda Hornibrook--learn how to make those cute scarves just in time for fall/winter. Make them for yourself, for gifts...the possibilities are endless! ;-) Please bring a crocheting hook that's size G through J. We'll have plenty of yarn there for you to use, but if you'd like, you can bring your own yarn.
Saturday, September 25th at 5:30 pm--the Primary children will be putting on "Stafford Primary on Stage"--come be entertained and support the kiddos! Refreshments will be served.
The same day at 7:00 pm will be the General Relief Society Broadcast at the Stake Center
Saturday & Sunday, October 2-3 will be General Conference
Thursday, October 7th at 7pm at Julia Croft's home (28615 Pete's Mt. Road): Our Book Discussion Group, AKA the Literary Ladies, will meet together to discuss the book Velva Jean Learns to Drive by Jennifer Niven. This is a funny, wise, and heartwarming read--I know there are copies available at the local libraries, and I know that Julia has at least one copy that can be borrowed. We'd love to have you come join us!
Friday, October 15th from 6-9 pm at the church: Fab Friday! This is an activity you don't want to miss! As stated earlier, please be on the lookout next Sunday for craft & class sign-ups! In addition to our crafts & classes, we'll have dinner and dessert, a humanitarian project, andchildcare available on site! Laurels are very much invited and can sign up for crafts & classes too!
Thursday, November 11th at 7pm at the church: Recipe Exchange--Hors d'oeuvres and Fancy Desserts, just in time for the holidays!
Thursday, December 9th: Relief Society Christmas Party
New Playgroup: will start up in the next week or so--we'll probably meet at parks for as long as we can, and then start meeting at the church as the weather gets rainy. Please email Bonnie Simmons at simmons.bonnie@gmail.com if you are interested in attending playgroup, and let her know which day & time would work best for you to attend.
New Walking/Running Group: We're thinking about starting up a new walking, running, and/or walk&run group that meets at the church (starting on Sept. 21st) on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 am sharp. We'd meet at the church, divide into groups of walkers, runners, and walk&runners, and then go on a designated route. Anybody interested? Respond to this email if you are, and let me know which category you fit into so we can gauge interest. This would be a great option for achieving those physical goals while having a good time with friends.
Volleyball: every Thursday at 8:45 pm at the church
Temple Group: Every first Wednesday of the month, we'll be meeting to do an endowment session at the temple. Remember--there's no Relief Society temple trip in September; we'll start up again in October.
